While humans have lived at the entrance of caves in the past, we were not evolved to experience what would lie several feet beneath the ground. In fact, the microbial life form and other living creature can be directly affected by our presence. Leaving oil residues or wearing down formations and exposing our natural microorganism to the different life forms found in caves can be impactful.. Although the nature of being human is to go where no one has gone before, it is important to be aware that our bodies are as foreign as an extraterrestrial meteor impacting our homes.
